Although the slogan was coined in 1988, Nike’s “Just Do It” has lived on and has become synonymous with their swoosh logo and action. It was our modern day equivalent to Carpe Diem.
Today’s fortune did not bring in billions of dollars to company, but the premise still holds true. No one should sit by idly waiting for life to take place. We cannot watch life like a television show; we need to act. We have to make decisions all the time, and though some are incredibly difficult to make, we still need to choose. Until you choose, you will never know if you will succeed or fail.
There is an indirect connection between the sport’s brand and the Greek goddess of victory, but I can imagine Nike, the goddess, flying in and urging all to action. Without action, there is no victory.
