Boy Building Sandcastles

This was my illustration for the May/June 2025 edition of the National Science Teaching Association’s journal, Science and Children. It accompanies the poem “Amazing” by Sara Holbrook in the “The Poetry of Science” column.

Summertime to me means playing by the shore or in the woods. Building sandcastles, climbing trees, and soaking up the sun. It also means identifying all sorts of plants, animals, and birds that show up in the warmer months.
